Losing a pet hurts deeply because they’re like family to us. When Reddit user sayruhOB and her family recently said goodbye to their beloved dog, it left them heartbroken. The family had to make the tough choice to let go of their 12-year-old furry friend. Understandably, the grief was overwhelming for the OP and her husband.
Just a day after their loss, their cousin’s graduation party offered a chance to distract their children from the sadness. Amidst the rush to get ready and tidy the house, OP’s husband chose an inconvenient moment to nap, leaving her to manage everything. Feeling overwhelmed, she asked him to wait until after the party to rest, but he insisted, citing his need to grieve. OP, who had been cleaning tirelessly, felt it was unfair not to receive support.

Losing your loved ones is part of the big circle of life that keeps moving. Loss doesn’t mean you freeze in time and do nothing. You have to keep pace, you have to move forward. That is because there is a lot of responsibility on your shoulders that needs to be honored. Especially in the case of OP’s husband who is not only a married man but also a father. He needs to start acting like an adult.
